Summer Program

Our Summer Program gives school aged children the chance to have fun and learn within a safe, creative and friendly atmosphere. We focus on social interactions and participation through which the children can build friendships and confidence. Our summer program enrollment is mainly comprised of children who attending our program all year. When spaces become available, they are offered to the community.

While at the centre, the children will be involved in daily theme-related activities involving: creative, fine/gross motor, sensory, math & science, language & cognitive development. As well, there will be lots of outdoor activities and games- and even some special visitors!

Our summer outings are a favourite amongst the children (parents and teachers, too!). Each trip is within walking distance of the centre to a destination in our local community. Appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes for walking are a must. Children should also bring a spare set of clothing as well as a bathing suit, a towel and a sunhat. Sunscreen and nutritious lunches and snacks are provided by SSCC. Children may wish to bring an extra labeled water bottle for outings, but, due to allergies, we ask that no food products are sent with the children.
